Dear friends in song,
The time has come to register for the Yale Glee Club’s 165th Anniversary Reunion! We’re looking forward to a wonderful weekend with hundreds of fellow Glee Club alumni here in New Haven on October 16-18. Registrations are due by September 4. We hope you can join us.
The fun will begin Friday evening with a welcome reception and pizza at the Omni Hotel – and some singing (of course). On Saturday, there will be opportunities for rehearsing with both TTBB and SATB alumni groups, followed by a gala concert at 4:00 pm in Woolsey Hall conducted by Jeffrey Douma and David Connell and an elegant dinner and dancing in Yale Commons. The reunion weekend officially ends with a Sunday morning Service of Celebration. New this year will be an option to purchase a box lunch and join friends for an informal gathering in the Glee Club room Sunday after the Service of Celebration.
Throughout the weekend, a display in the Gilmore Music Library (inside Sterling Library) will honor Fenno Heath’s 100th birthday. There will also be opportunities to spend time informally with YGC friends on and off campus, to share lunch in one of Yale’s residential college dining halls, and to connect with current students participating in the Yale Glee Club Student/Mentor exchange program, through which hundreds of YGC students and alums have formed fruitful enduring relationships.
But most of all, we look forward to being together and to raising our voices in song!
